ORANGERY

2025

The Orangery project is an artistic study of the mechanisms of personality formation in an artificially constructed environment. The Greenhouse here does not act as a botanical space-model of a social incubator, where the personality is grown, adjusted, disciplined. n this system of “care” and control, as in biological greenhouses, the boundaries between natural growth and the set parameters are blurred. I address the questions: how does the external structure affect the internal processes?

Visually, the project is based on the tension between architectural rigidity and fluid natural forms. The space of the “greenhouse” is defined through rhythmic lines reminiscent of lattices, frames, domes — they refer to systems of supervision, symmetry, order. Against this background, organic spots of color unfold, reminiscent of moss, algae or clouds — symbols of life, spontaneity and inner movement. In this context, color plays the role of not only an expressive means, but also an environmental marker, recording the climate of internal and external pressure. The synthesis of techniques allows us to express the very idea of the conflict between control and organics. Carpet embroidery becomes a gesture of manual intervention — a symbol of how modern reality is assembled from fragments, and personality grows within given forms.

“The Orangery” is a visual experiment about how the architecture of social norms influences the process of becoming, and how germination, spontaneity and development are still possible from within these structures.
