THE ORIGION OF COLOR
2023-2024
This project is an artistic exploration of the nature of color and its connection to the surrounding environment, materials, textures, and atmosphere. It includes a series of panels that rethink the very concept of color as a document of natural processes and experienced states. Each color is not merely a visual characteristic but a trace of time and the interaction of light, soil, water, plants, and air. Color is revealed in an inseparable combination with texture, a symbol of the materiality of the surrounding world. Drawing on the principles of Impressionism, the artist treats color as a key means to convey atmosphere and fleeting moments. However, unlike classical Impressionists, she is interested not only in the subjective optics of the artist but also in the objective nature of color, its origins, and the “memory” of the place where it comes from.
The panels are created using a mixed technique that combines acrylic painting, embroidery, and gold leaf gilding.
